Olivity a Slice of Greece in Amsterdam
Olivity is a Greek deli, minimarket and take-away – a slice of Greece in Amsterdam. As the name Olivity suggests, the main ingredient in used the dishes you can savour is: olive oil. Not only can you buy Greek products here, you can also have breakfast, lunch and what’s more participate in cooking workshops.
Olivity: mini market
The moment you enter Olivity, you imagine yourself in a mini market in a town or village in Greece: all kinds of Greek products that are usually not available in the Netherlands. There are pots of Greek herbs such as thyme and oregano, very finely ground Greek coffee to make the real Greek coffee served in a tiny cup. And there is more: olives, olive oil and Greek wine, giant beans, mountain tea, halva sweetened with honey or stevia, and seasonal treats like vasilopita for Christmas and tsoureki for Easter.
Living room
Olivity looks more like a living room than a shop. A table by the window is perfectly suited to drink a Greek coffee. Brewed by hand or, in fact, boiled in a ‘briki’, a coffee pot with a long handle.
Catering and private dining
Craving Greek food but no time or desire to cook? Olivity also provides catering. Enjoy the healthy Greek cuisine, without frying, but traditionally prepared in the oven or on the stove and of course with extra virgin, Greek olive oil. There are different menu options for omnivores, vegetarians and vegans and also lactose or gluten free.
Don’t feel like all the hassle at home? You can book a table for 6 to 12 guests for a private dinner or a buffet for groups of 15 to 25 guests.
Cooking workshop
There are two cooking workshops to book. During the 3-hour workshop, you prepare and eat a two-course meal and in the 4-hour workshop you cook a three-course meal. If you have very little time, book the cooking 1.5-hour workshop during which you prepare one dish. A welcome drink and snacks are offered during the course.
