The Old Bell
The Old Bell is a typical eetcafé and English-style pub located at Rembrandtplein in Amsterdam. Eetcafés are popular places and may serve anything from simple snacks to full three-course meals. This is exactly what you will find at the Old Bell add to this the best British beers and ales and you know why this is the place to be.
Draught beer
The Old Bell’s menu features all time British favourites like Fish ‘n Chips and meat pies but Wiener Schnitzel with mushroom sauce or typically Dutch satay with spicy peanut sauce. But it’s the beer on draught that draws the crowd; Guinness Stout, Murphy’s Red or Wieckse Witte, a whitebeer with fruity taste with a spicy twist. The wide range of bottled beers are also worth a closer look. What about a Kriek, with cherries and a sweet aftertaste, Duvel, a heavy Belgian beer and a good quencher of thirst or Beck’s, a German beer with a hoppy character.
Party Scene
Rembrandtplein is lined with restaurants and pubs, all with outside seating in summer. At night this part of Amsterdam comes truly alive. Tourists and locals swarm the area for a taste of the party scene. Bars and clubs are packed with revellers of all genders and preferences.
Rembrandt
The square is overlooked by a statue of the painter Rembrandt himself and a 3D version of his most famous painting: the Night Watch. See this famous painting first at Rijksmuseum, then at Rembrandtplein.
