Eetcafé Katoen
Katoen is one of the many eetcafés in Amsterdam and popular at lunch time when students and young professionals sit inside or at one of the five outside tables, a popular spot in summer. This is the perfect place to relax. Canal boats, bicycles and traffic offer enough sensation to watch.
Lunch
Lunch for the Dutch means bread. The menu is chalked on the wall and includes chunks of brown bread smothered in goat cheese, honey and pine nuts. Open sandwiches topped with ham, cheese, egg and tomatoes with a light yoghurt dressing are big enough for the very hungry.
Breakfast
On weekdays student girls sip mint tea in the afternoon. On Thursday and Friday evenings the bar is full of party-goers having a drink or two before their evening out starts. Katoen breakfasts are very popular especially by the guests from nearby hotels. Who can resist fresh croissants, yoghurt and muesli washed down with freshly brewed coffee?
Location
Excellent location, right in the centre and close to Dam Square, Waterlooplein, Red Light District, Kalverstraat, music theatres and film theatres.
