Ibis Affordable Hotel at Schiphol Airport

No surprises at the Ibis Hotel, part of the Accor Hotel Group. This is an affordable option of a hotel close to Schiphol Airport and Amsterdam. The rooms may be a bit bland and anonymous, but the air-conditioned rooms are always reliable. This is the cheapest hotel close to Schiphol International Airport and provides a free shuttle bus to the airport.

Guest Rooms

All 644 rooms are comfortable, sufficiently large and equipped with the standard hotel furniture. Double glazing shuts out most of the noise of incoming and departing planes. No tea or coffee making facilities, but you will be entertained by TV programmes, BBC World and other international channels besides the Dutch ones. Bring adaptors for phone and camera chargers because they may not fit the hotel’s outlets.

Location

Ibis Hotel seems to be in no-man’s land, an island in between motorways. No shops, no restaurants, no cafés and no street in the vicinity. All you can do is have an early night, have dinner or a drink in the Ibis Restaurant or the Red Baron Bar. If this is not exciting enough, take the free shuttle bus to Schiphol Airport, visit the panorama deck or shop at Schiphol Plaza. The courtesy shuttle bus whisks you to and from the airport between 4.30 am and 1.30 am. The airport to hotel stretch takes 10 minutes, the hotel to airport journey 15 to 20 minutes
