From Schiphol to Amsterdam City Centre

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is located 17 kilometers southwest of Amsterdam centre. Schiphol Station is right at the terminal at a lower level. Getting to Amsterdam Central Station takes 15 to 20 minutes. The train is by far the most convenient way of getting from Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam City centre. By Train

The train is by far the easiest and cheapest way to get to the Amsterdam centre. As the journey takes only 15 minutes, it is also the fastest way. About every 10 minutes a train leaves for Amsterdam Central Station. The first train is at 06.00 am and the last train at 00.28. From 01.00 to 05.00 night trains run once an hour. By Bus

The bus stop of Connexxion Bus 197 is at platform B9 next to Schiphol Plaza. This bus is also known as the Amsterdam Airport Express. This red bus runs every fifteen minutes and stops at Stadionplein, Museumplein and Leidseplein. The final stop is Marnixstraat. This bus does not go to the Central Station. Buy your tickets from the driver or at the Connexxion Tickets & Info Schiphol in the departure hall. Night bus N97 has the same route as bus 197 and runs once every hour from 01.00 to 5.00.

By Hotel Shuttle

The hotel shuttle bus is extremely comfortable when you have a lot of luggage. The bonus is that the shuttle bus runs a door to door service provided you have a hotel booking. This mini-van leaves from platform A7 twice an hour from 06:00 to 21:20. The ride to Amsterdam takes 30 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic. Tickets can be bought at the Connexxion desk in Departures 4.

By Taxi

A taxi to Amsterdam will set you back €45 en €50. It takes 30 to 45 minutes to get to the city centre , in the rush hour longer.
